7.The total number of spectators About 300,000 people (estimated attendance for the Festival previous year)
8.Participants of fireworks makers 30 fireworks makers across Japan (9 makers from Kyushu) will participate this festival.
9.Competition items
  • (1)Display "Jugodama". Jugodama means the size of fireworks shells and range in about 30cm. When it reaches to the sky, the diameter will be about 300 meter. Fireworks makers across Japan will participate and each maker will launch 1 firework.
  • (2)Display "Gogodama". Gogodama means the size of fireworks shells and range in about 15cm. When it reaches in the sky, the diameter will be about 150 meter. 30 fireworks makers across Japan will participate. Each maker launches 5 fireworks successively.
  • (3)Display "Starmines" (9 makers from only Kyushu area will participate.) Each maker launches 250 fireworks successively. Starmines means are most common fireworks, which are spherical shells that have a variety of burst patterns.
10.Parking lots There are several temporary parking spaces around the festival site (including free of charge), however the spaces are limited. Traffic regulation will be done on that day, and heavy traffic jam usually occurs in Yatsushiro city. So please use public transportation such as Japan Railway (JR). It takes you 10 minutes on foot from Yatsushiro Station or Hisatsu Orange Railway Station. On that day, many additional temporary trains are operated.
11.Shuttle bus The shuttle buses are scheduled to be operated from the festival site to temporary parking spaces (for a charge).
12.Special seats There are special seats in the main event area (for a charge). You will be excited by fireworks and music furthermore in these special seats.
13.Photo contest A photo contest will be held.
14.Recruitment of sponsors We are recruiting corporate sponsors to cooperate with this festival. How about appealing your company at this festival only held in Western Japan. Feel free to contact us about the details.

    *Standard fireworks are launched by the makers who got the prize previous year. Then, competition displays will be judged on the basis of these fireworks.
  • The first display of fireworks (10 makers)
  • Entertainment fireworks and display which pray for the reconstruction of Kumamoto Earthquake.
  • The second display of fireworks (10 makers)
  • Fireworks accompanied with music.
  • The third display of fireworks (10 makers)
  • Entertainment fireworks.
  • Finale (Interaction between spectators and pyrotechnics with lighting.)

Highlights

  • 1.Competition fireworks There are only 3 firework competition festivals held in Japan. And, the Yatsushiro competition festival is the only one in Western Japan. Please enjoy the magnificence and the technique of fireworks launched by famous pyrotechnics in Japan.

  • 2.Fireworks accompanied with music. Fireworks are launched with music in about 6 minutes. Don't miss these fireworks, it deserves to be seen.

  • 3.Live coverage by FM radio The local FM radio “FM Yatsushiro(76.5MHz)” takes charge of live broadcasting. Besides the introduction and explanation of fireworks, parking lots information and traffic jam information etc. will be broadcasted.

  • 4.Opening firework Pyrotechnics from Kyushu area display “Special Wide Starmines”. You can enjoy fireworks which are difference from other fireworks.

  • 5.Program We sell the program that explains fireworks etc. in detail.

  • 6.Three item to enjoy displays Please take with your program, flashlight, and FM radio set to the festival. You can experience this festival more excitingly.
